Connection Server

In a distributed deployment architecture, a connection server is responsible for managing client connections to offload that work from the servers that are responsible for game logic. The connection server multiplexes the traffic from many client connections into a smaller number of connections to the game servers. It may also handle the work of encoding and decoding encrypted or compressed data between the clients and the game servers.
